scramble!!!!

there is a public elementary school near our place, and of course, street foods abound during the kids' dismissal time. there's mangga't bagoong, singkamas at bagoong, fishball, sago't gulaman, and, of course, there's scramble. you still remember what scramble is? it's that frothy shaved ice concotion, usually colored pink or green, with this really creamy powdered milk on top. yum!

everytime jojie and i pass by the school during the kids' dismissal time, i ask him if i can buy food there, specifically, mangga't bagoong. of course he always says no (can't blame him). since i'm also wary of street bagoong, i abandoned the idea. i think he was relieved when i stopped pestering him about it. after all, i also pester him to go to UP every once in a while to eat fishball and isaw and mangga't bagoong. since he does bring me to UP to eat, i guess he thought i abandoned the idea of tasting the food in the nearby public school. what jojie doesn't know, though, is that i'm only waiting for the perfect time (read: he's not with me) so i can buy... not the mangga nor the fishball but the scramble!!! and today, when i passed by the school, on my way to my parents' house, i was able to buy!!! yey!!! i was driving and since i was also in a hurry, i just stopped the car, rolled down the window, and ordered "drive-through" scramble. ang sarap!!!

Favorite ko din ang scramble. There's usually a scramble vendor that passes by about the time when church service is supposed to end. I can't help but get agitated when I hear the bell at di pa patapos ang service :S

Saka dun ko nalang nakikita ang "Brown Cow" hahah
