on cooking

i love cooking. i can spend days on end reading cookbooks and looking for just that perfect recipe. i love
experimenting with different dishes. although i consult cookbooks, i rely heavily on my instinct as a cook. usually nakikipagtalo pa ako sa sarili ko kung talaga bang okay na yung, say, dami ng basil na nailagay ko. what i do pag ganito, is to close my eyes, and really try to feel what my instincts say and then i do whatever that is.

i also love baking. my specialty's carrot cake. i never thought that carrots in a cake will taste good but, modesty aside, my cakes taste great! so great that i even contemplated making my own wedding cake! :) i also love cheesecakes, too, kaya ang dami ko na ring nagawang cheesecakes.

more than cooking and baking per se, i love cooking and baking for jojie. he loves my cooking! (or siguro kasi he just loves food! hahaha!) his favorite, and actually mine, too, is sinigang. he loves his sinigang to have sobrang daming gabi and i love mine with sobrang daming kamatis. we also like our sinigang to be really sour. the kind that will make your face pangit! hahaha!

jojie was asking me the other day if i'll still cook for him when we're already married. takot ata na pinagluluto ko lang siya ngayon kasi mag-boyfriend pa lang kami at papabayaan ko na siya pag mag-asawa na kami. hehe!

aside from cooking, i also love planning menus for parties. i'm so excited na for our first noche buena as husband and wife na i already have a menu!!!! :) i started planning the menu last month pa! hehe!

i really can't wait for december.
